Aims of the table dialogues • To get to know each other and exchange experiences/good practices • To consider the applications of economic valuation in connection with science-based management and policy-making • Identify ways of better integrating economic valuation into policy-making – defining practical steps (building on the insights of the pre-workshop – key action points proposed available as printouts)

  3. Questions to be discussed: • 1. What are/should be the main uses of economic valuation for policy making? Your personal experiences • 2. What are the main difficulties for using economic valuation for policy making? Your personal experiences • 3. How to improve the use of economic valuation for policymaking – practical steps (KEY QUESTION)

  4. Practical set-up • 20 tables, each with 10-15 participants • One facilitator each (core facilitators from the pre-workshop on economic valuation, GEF-project managers et al.) • Participants have been allocated randomly to the tables – please see lists on the wall & your badges

  5. Practical set-up - proposal • After personal introduction: for each question participants to take down 1-3 keywords/ answers on a card each and pin to the flip chart • Please consider the draft action points identified in the pre-workshop • Moderator to form clusters of answers, rearranging the cards – discussion • Participants to prioritize & identify the 3 main key issues • Summary of discussion to feed intothe closing session of the conference on Friday
