Texas scorches under deadly 'heat dome'

A stationary high-pressure system across the South is trapping heat and humidity, unleashing a heat dome with temperatures rising well above 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 Celsius).<br>Texas is trapped under a u201cheat domeu201d that is expected to bring more record highs and strain the power grid. As the heatwave expands through parts of Kansas, Oklahoma and all the way across the Gulf coast, tens of millions are facing excessive heat warnings.
