  3. Policy and objectives • Accessibility priority • Work, education, health • Buses and safety • Cost/sustainable • Outside City Centre • Workplace parking levy • Citycard scheme • No leisure, no Boris, no loads of cash…

  4. Peak: Access to city centre and employment sites • Access to bus/trams that operate every 30 minutes or better; • 92% within 400m; • Interchange available in city centre to employment sites beyond city centre; • No more than one change of service necessary

  5. Current issues • Gaps too costly to make attractive • Extended working hours • Cul de sacs, difficult access • Connections across whole of City Centre • Overcrowding • WPL funds – NET, Trains • Citycard funds – diversify/integrate

Proposal • Cycle hire from main hubs, some staffed • Integrated with bus/tram/rail ticket, info etc • Secure storage for own bike too • Only for Citycard club members • Block book remotely • Responsible for workplace storage • Lock and Citycard • Electronic hub docking station • Use monitoring/planning

  13. Phoenix/Forest P&R/Bulwell Hubs • Secure car parking and regular trams to: • Clarendon College • Djanogly College • Nottingham High School • Nottingham Business Park • Bilborough College • Blenheim

  14. Main employers • 99%+ located within 1.5 miles of hubs • 99% on safe flat traffic free routes from hubs • Many already have high cycle usage/profile for cycling • Some informal linking already • Interchange works with bus:bus if little wait
