  1. A Mitotic Fairytale By: Jenn Connor and Jasel Patel

  2. Once upon a me there was a little boy and girl who were brother and sister. They dreamed of being exactly like their parents when they grew up.

  3. One day the parents were gone, so the little girl went into her mother’s closet, while the little boy went into his father’s they both took their parents clothes and put them on over top their own.

  4. They played all day, but their favorite thing to do was arts a crafts. So they went to the craft table, and they realized that they should take off their parent’s clothes . As the little girl was walking back she tripped with her hand landing on the open glue bottle and her body landing on the little boy. They looked at each other and they were covered in glue!

  5. Not knowing what to do, they called their friends to come over and help them. They each grabbed a rope and their friends grabbed the other end. They pulled as hard as they could until CRASH the little boy, the little girl, and their friends all went flying backwards.

  6. The little boy and girl went back inside to clean up their mess before their parents got home. They finished in perfect timing. There parents walked in the door, not suspecting anything. They lived happily ever after

  7. They stood up, and looked around. They did it! They were not stuck together anymore!

  9. Translation When the kids are thinking about trying to be like their parents, they are getting ready to try on their parents clothes. This is interphase. When the kids take off their parents clothes, this is the breaking down of the nuclear membrane. This step is the 1st step of Mitosis, prophase. When the children get glued together, they get glued together by the hands, they are split evenly between each other. The hand acts as the centromere, splitting the sister chromatids, the children. The glue acts as the microtubules that connect the two sister chromatids. The children call their friends, who act as the centriosomes. They split up and go on either side of the children, acting as the centriosomes. They then create the spindle fibers, the rope. They tie it to each children's stomach, the kinetochores. This attaching is metaphase. They make sure the children are aligned, they make the imaginary equator. They start pulling a little to see how hard it would be to detach them. This is the beginning of anaphase, the cell is elongating resembling an oval now. The friends finally detach the children, the DNA splits. This is the beginning of telophase. The rope breaks, the spindle fibers turning into microtubules. They put on new clothes, the nuclear envelope starts to form.
