  2. Project Overview • Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) Equipment and Technology Management (ETM) Work Order Module • Used by all Dept. of Defense Medical facilities worldwide during peacetime and wartime

  3. Development Concept • Create an interface from DMLSS AIS ETM Module to Pocket PC • Allow a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) to perform remote maintenance • Utilize Voice Recognition technology to allow hands free data entry of repetitive tasks

  4. Benefits of our Solution • Reduces current paper work order reliance • Allows for capture of detailed data that can be used in performance metrics • Availability of parts lists and other information electronically

  5. Proof of Concept • Find LPC coefficients from training words • Analyze recorded word on Pocket PC and extract LPC Coefficients • Determine best fit word based on shortest distance to the training coefficients

  6. Technical Speedbumbs • Use of tabular design in Pocket PC Development • Use of multiple dialog boxes instead of tabular design

  9. Demonstration Goals • Verify concept of Voice Recognition implementation • Allow the user to become confident in the results

  10. Future Enhancements • Improve Graphical User Interface and include required equipment data • Add a function to analyze the users voice for better accuracy • Provide access to additional data (ie. parts lists, troubleshooting guides, etc.)

  11. Summary and Conclusion Our product will: • Increase the efficiency of the Biomedical Maintenance Department • Enhance their ability to analyze the collected data • Lessen the paper dependency of the BMET
