  2. An Introduction • Do you want to work with a nationally renowned Medical Center? • Do you have an interest in Women’s Lacrosse or Women’s Swimming and Diving? • Do you want to be a part of a Southeastern Conference football team?

An Introduction • Vanderbilt Sports Medicine invites you to experience an unrivaled learning environment over the next two years in the Vanderbilt Athletic Training Room. • Vanderbilt University is looking for two hard working, responsible and self-motivated applicants for two Graduate Assistantships. • Position 1 – W. Lacrosse & Football • Position 2 – W. Swimming/Diving & Football

The Vanderbilt Athletic Training Staff • Vanderbilt utilizes a team of nine Staff Athletic Trainers and two Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainers. • We have a total of three Athletic Training Rooms on campus, with the majority of time spent in the Pinky Lipscomb Athletic Training Room. It is located in the main Athletics Building, the McGugin Center.

  10. Complete Autonomy. Primary coverage responsibility. Travel during the fall and spring seasons. Supervise a curriculum student from Middle Tennessee State University. Become an ACI! Affiliated with the American Lacrosse Conference. Vanderbilt Lacrosse

  13. Summer Responsibilities • Co-Manage and coordinate Gatorade Sports Camps in the summer months. • Travel to Chicago for Gatorade Training

  19. The Basics of your Assignment • Get a Degree! • Pursue a Master of Sports Administration at Belmont University. • All classes are offered in the evening. • Work in the Vanderbilt Athletic Training Room during the day.

  20. The Basics of your Assignment • How am I compensated? • Sign a two year contract beginning 6/1/08 and ending 5/31/10. • You are paid a yearly salary of $29,785.60. • You are responsible for your tuition payments at Belmont. • Payments due by first of August.

  21. Master of Sports Administration • Belmont Master of Sports Administration • 33 total credit hours. • Take 8-9 credit hours per semester. • Summer classes? • Not required, and there is an extra fee.

The Vanderbilt Clinical Experience • Vanderbilt Athletic Training Room • Learn valuable time management skills. • Construct a treatment schedule for your autonomous sport. • Work with Staff Athletic Trainers on the football schedule and injury report. • Communicate with our Vanderbilt Sports Medicine Physicians. • Learn from all Staff Athletic Trainers.

  23. Clinical Education • Other responsibilities. • Participate in monthly GA Skill Sessions. • Learn new techniques to enhance your clinical skills. • Attend Evidence Based Medicine Courses. • Done during your first year. • Meet with Clinical Coordinator on monthly basis.
