  7. Crisis Management Team   • Introduction/Overview • The Crisis Management Team is made up of individuals within the school staff, such as the Superintendent, the School Principals, Facilities Manager, the Director of General Services, etc. • The function of this team is to plan for and respond to school crises. • This Team should work to plan periodic emergency drills to ensure that students and staff may be able to leave the school building or perform other procedures described in the AIS/D Crisis Response Manual in the shortest amount of time without panic and confusion. • The Crisis Management team meets before the start of each school year to review procedures from the previous year and make modifications as needed. • They will prepare the emergency procedures information that will go home to all school families during the first weeks of the new school year. The Emergency Planning Team is responsible for the maintenance of the emergency procedures including: • Maintaining the phone tree • Confirming that all parent phone numbers are current • Ensuring that all emergency equipment is functioning • Scheduling emergency drills • Conducting emergency procedures training for staff • The Team will also meet bi-annually to plan and conduct periodic tabletop and functional emergency exercises. • During a major crisis the Crisis Management Team coordinator and or his designee work closely with local emergency service providers and all key leaders sharing in the decision-making process. Emergency Response Team   Introduction/Overview • The Emergency Response Team are a team made up of various staff • with specific responsibilities in the event of the evacuation or lockdown. • Their purpose is to ensure the safety of all faculty & staff, coordinate a speedy exit, investigate any potential dangers and escalate any further actions to be taken.
