  2. Select an issue of historic, global or national conflict The Trojan War • (Is it a conflict? Test: Are there two sides in opposition to each other?) The Trojan war is a conflict. According to Homer, it was between the Greeks and the Trojans, but other historical evidence suggests other adversaries including the Sea Peoples or the Hittites.

Causes of/Reasons An evaluation of factors causing the conflict from social science perspectives: • geographic—relating to the earth and its features and the distribution of life on the earth. • political—relating to the structure or affairs of government, politics, or the state. • economic—relating to the production, development, and management of material wealth. • cultural—relating to socially transmitted behavior patterns, arts, beliefs, institutions, and all other products of human work and thought. • sociological—relatingto the study of human social behavior, esp. the study of the origins, organization, institutions, and development of human society. • psychological—relating to or arising from the mind or emotions.
