  1. Commonly Occuring Chronic Problems Of Old Age There are certain chronic diseases that mostly occur during old age. Since the immune system becomes very low during this age, so proper medical attention, nursing and assistance become vital during this age.  If you have an elderly family member in your house and you wish to know about these chronic diseases, read on.  We have enlisted few for you here. Arthritis Arthritis or joint pain is very common during old age.  Soreness in the joints   due   to   arthritis   is   often   associated   with   inflammation   and swelling. Sometimes the swelled joints tend to affect usual mobility of the affected elderly population too.   Experts having Certificate III in Individual   Support   suggest   that   the   senior   population   requires specialized care during this time.

  2. Hypertension Hypertension is a chronic condition which occurs when patients suffer from high blood pressure for a prolonged span. This is a phase of the disease where the patients need to be on regular medication. The preliminary symptoms of this problem are headache, dizziness and palpitation. Sometimes immediate treatment and supervision are also need when situations aggravate. During this time, patients experience obvious symptoms in the form of chest pain, aggravated headache, anxiety and irregular heart beat.  Cardiac problems Cardiac problems are quite common during old age.  During old age, the level of bad cholesterol in bloodstream often increases. This leads to partial blockage in the walls of coronary artery due to the build up of a fatty substance called atheroma.

  3. As the intensity of blockage inside the walls of the arteries increase,As the intensity of blockage inside the walls of the arteries increase, flow of blood into the heart through these  arteries tend to decrease. Eventually, the heart does not receive as much oxygen as is needed for healthy functioning. Eventually, the chances of heart attack increase.   The obvious symptoms of cardiac problems that you may not in the elderly member of your family include palpitation, angina, chest pain and breathlessness. The moment you witness any of these symptoms, you must be alert and seek medical consultation.  Asthma Asthma and related breathing problems are fairly common during old age because both the immune and respiratory systems become weak during this phase of life. While the body becomes susceptible to airborne allergens very frequently during this time due to low immunity, the weakened respiratory system becomes inflamed as these allergens enter the body. Eventually,  the reactions show up in the form of coughing, choking, irregular breathing, feeling of tightness in the chest and panting.  In aggravated conditions, the patient needs to be taken into immediate medical supervision too. Be cautious to check that the elderly person gets immediate oxygen supply during that dire situation so that the feeling of suffocation could be prevented.  For More Information Visit Here: Click here for visit our website:http://www.auscaregroup.com.au
