Preschool News 8/23/13 Important Dates -8/26 Spanish -8/27 Library -8/30 SPARK Nutrition -9/2 No School – Labor Day -9/11 Block Fest What Weare Learning Next Week! -Next week we will start our Zoo Phonics lessons. Zoo Phonics teaches students the letter sounds through animal names and actions. I am sending home a sheet that has all the actions & animal names for you to practice with your child at home. -We will also learn… shapes: circle & square. colors: red & orange -The unit we will be studying is “all about me”. We will talk about what makes each of us unique. Reminders -Please send $20.40 with your child for 1st semester milk if you haven’t already. -Send an extra set of clothes to keep at school in case of an accident.   2. Preschool News Continued 8/23/13 As you can tell our S.P.O.T. (students & parents organizing together) binders have arrived! These binders will go back and forth from school to home everyday. We will put newsletters, monthly calendars, etc. in them. If you have any bussing notes, milk money, etc. please put it in the pouch inside the front cover in order for us to see it! We have had a wonderful week. The kids have done a super job and are adjusting to the routines & schedule very fast. I have really enjoyed getting to know each child’s fun, unique personality. I am sending home a form for free and reduced lunch. The school district would like everyone to fill it out and return with your child to school. If you are POSITIVE that you would not qualify then you do not need to fill it out. -We will have a 10-15 minute Spanish lesson every Monday streamed through a video conference. The calendar I sent on Monday said it was on Fridays, but due to SPARK and nutrition on Friday we have switched it to Monday. -Our nutrition lesson will consist of reading a book and then making a healthy snack that goes along with it. There will be a parent letter that will go home on Fridays that explains what we did during nutrition that day.
