CSA Specified Tasks • VCSA Ebola Training TF: Review pre-dep training materials for every level of responsibility (Soldier, NCO, Officer, Medical Provider) • Reassure our Families: Education and Strategic Communication • Shape the DoD Policies: Pre-Dep Training and 21-Day Sequester • Identify MTF Resources: CONUS facility for treatment of DoD personnel • Identify Isolation Options: Best options for post-deployment isolation that does not create perception of confinement and allows Soldiers to decompress while going through 21-day monitoring Army MedicineEbola Update Prepare Soldiers- Last 24 Hours • Final approval of training products from VCSA Training TF (CSA Task 1) • Submitted updated Training Matrix, FHP Guidance, and PPE listing to HQDA OPT for publication in MOD to EXORD 241-14 • MTTs certified; funding guidance for MTTs currently an issue (cannot deploy PPE MTT to train 34 pax at CRC awaiting deployment) • FORSCOM and MEDCOM G-37 Training coordinating on future MTT requests. • JS Surgeon Liberian Training Team POI OPT still ongoing (G-34 lead) Next 24-96 Hours • Complete VCSA Training TF certification of training products • Reintegration Timeline MA ICW ACSIM • PPE Distribution Plan • Resolve MTT Funding/Scheduling; BPT begin MTT training • Refine Health Surveillance Plan (during and post-deployment) • Distribute approved Leader/NCO screening tool • RMCS BPT support unit training and IMCOM town halls NLT 29 SEP 14 • DHA presents Decision Brief to MG Thomas NLT 3 OCT to select DoD MTF for EVD patients • Intratheaterevac policy Protect Soldiers- Last 24 Hours • MEDCOM G4 coordinating with Army G-4 for decentralized procurement and distributin of PPE; coordinating with G8 for funds (CSA Task 3) • H&W developing Human Dimension Checklist Tool • MEDCOM G34 completed staffing within Army Medicine the OSD Policy for Patient Movement for comment; with DSG for signature • MEDCOM HCO developing proposed Army intratheater evacuation policy (rotary wing and ground evac) ICW PHC; will staff with JS and AFRICOM o/a 2 OCT 14 • H&W represented Army Medicine to develop DHA Decision Brief to MG Thomas to select criteria for DoD MTF for potential EVD Patient Treatment; seven DoD MTFs currently nominated as potential facilities • MWD recommendation being discussed at OSD. MEDCOM CONCEPT OF THE OPERATION Comments/Issues • Possible Special Medical Response Team (SMRC)- Telemedicine deployment • OSD Patient Movement SOP in staffing • Location of “Training Boot Camp” for Medical Training Team • Coordinating with USARAF on projected requirements • Coordination across Services and JS for PPE, quarantine, and Investigational New Drug (IND) policy • DHA WG for selection of DoD MTFs to treat EVD patients • MWD Deployment Policy • Funding/impact on MEDCOM support (MTTs and PPE) Reassure Families- Last 24 Hours CSA Task 2 • PHC Family Member education products (except Town Hall briefing) approved by VCSA Training TF • OCPA PAG undergoing final revisions; anticipate release with MOD 1 Return Soldiers Safely- Last 24 Hours • ACSIM lead; MEDCOM Support for Reintegration OPT; S: 30 OCT for product. H&W and G-34 will serve as representatives • H&W and HCD coordinate with G-37 Medical Readiness for PDHA (DD Form 2796) update • H&W represents Army Medicine in DHA WG to discuss redeployment medical requirements
