  2. “To be Spiritually Minded...” • “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” (Romans 8:5-6 NKJV) • Developing the proper mindset can ensure that we will be doing the things that are pleasing God.

  3. “To be Spiritually Minded…” • This hour we are going to consider the proper mindset that we as Christians should have. • What are some things that should characterize the proper mindset of the Christian?

  4. “To be Spiritually Minded…” • Philippians 1:27, We should have a mind that will not accept error. • What is involved in “striving” for the faith of the gospel? • Learning the truth • Holding fast to the truth • Defending the truth • We must learn and put to practice the truth revealed to us from God’s Word - and then try to correct those who are in error. (1Corinthians 15:1-2, 2 Timothy 2:24-26)

  5. “To be Spiritually Minded…” • Philippians 2:1-3, We should have a mindset that is humble and lowly. • “Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.” (Romans 12:16 NKJV)

  6. “To be Spiritually Minded…” • Philippians 2:3-4, We should have a mind that genuinely cares for others. • Philippians 2:5-11, This attitude is best exemplified in Christ

  7. “To be Spiritually Minded…” • Philippians 3:12-14, Our mind should be set on pressing forward right to the very end! • Philippians 1:3-11, These brethren were doing well spiritually, but they could still do better! • “…till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:13 NKJV)

  8. “To be Spiritually Minded…” • Philippians 4:6-9, We CAN obtain a mind that is at peace – Not filled with anxiety. • We are to be prayerful (Verses 6-7) • We must meditate on the right things (Verse 8) • We must DO what is right (Verse 9)

The Lord is Searching Your Mind! • “I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.” (Jeremiah 17:10 NKJV) • “I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.” (Revelation 2:23 NKJV)

  10. The Lord is Searching Your Mind! • Are we pressing on diligently? • Are we genuinely concerned for others and their welfare? • Do we embrace a lowly and humble attitude? • Do we have a mind that will not accept error? • We CAN obtain a mind that is at peace, free from anxiety! • 1 Peter 3:21-22, Philippians 4:6-9
