Test Philosophy • Lab testing where necessary and possible • For instance, testing of temperature limits on cameras • Cold limit testing on commercial components • Get in the field early and often • Establish network of GBOs well before satellites launched • Prototype to be deployed this winter • 5 Units deployed in winter ’04-05 • Additional 15 Units deployed in winter ’05-06

Status • GBO Procurement • ASI Cameras / Lenses on order, due 4-6 weeks • Prototype Deployment • Currently scheduled Jan ’04 • Enclosure (ASI and CE) fabrication, est. delivery ~ late Dec. • System integration, est. completion ~ early Feb. • Pushes deployment into late Feb. • Open Issues • Computer selection • Sun shield design • USB cable length extender testing
