  2. noble-(adj) high and great in character; trying to make the best decisions for everyone; acting with dignity Ex. The noble leader always tried to do what was best for his people.

  3. perceptive-(adj) being aware through the use of the senses (hear, see, taste, smell, or feel); noticing details Ex. The perceptive girl noticed that her teammate was distracted and offered to help her.

  4. petrify-(verb) paralyze with fear, horror, or surprise; turn into stone Ex. The boy was petrified when he saw the snake dangling from a tree.

  5. purchase - (verb) to buy something Ex. The fickle woman could not decide whether to purchase the red shoes or the blue shoes.

  6. pompous-(adj) acting overly proudly; thinking that you’re “it” Ex. The pompous soccer player refused to pass the ball to his teammates on the field.
