  3. Scenario use by Ryan Morgan Aman comes home from work, after a long day and walks in the front door. His desires is to - hug his wife go for a peaceful walk in the park enjoy a nice dinner with his 3 yr old son, take a nice hot shower read a good novel before going to bed. However his wife begins yelling at him about how poorly of a job he’s doing as her husband. - He forgets to take out the garbage, clean up after the dogs, mow the lawn. - specifically how he NEVER gives her what she needs. The 3 year old son starts crying.

  7. Applications Peace Let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts Colossians 3:15 How should you handle - Confrontations with family members? When you don’t get your way? When accusations are made against you? A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.Proverb 15:1

Applications - Love - Kindness - Goodness - Gentleness A Heart devoted to compassion for others Requires interest, awareness, sympathy & effort - Spouse and Children - Those that we have opportunity to help - Often requires our time and money Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32

Applications Patience • Have forbearance with others in love with humility and gentleness – Eph. 4:2 • Don’t be anxious – Matt. 6:34 Learn to make do Don’t over extend your financial obligations • Strive to live each day with endurance-Heb 12:1 All things work together for good to those that love God.– Rom :28

  10. Applications Faithfulness Fidelity, Reliable, Trustworthy • Faithful to God • Marriage vows Love and Honor – Better or Worst Remain faithful until death • Keeping your word • Providing for your family

Applications Self-Control Mastering one’s desires & passions (especially one’s sensual appetites) - Stay away from things that tempt you to do evil - Don’t get involved with ungodly people - Refrain from sinning when you become angry Consider the member of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed.Col. 3:5

Answer: Jesus Christ our Lord! Romans 7:24 -25 • When we are buried with Christ in baptism and raised to walk in newness of life, we are no longer slaves to sin. Romans 6:3 -6 (Paraphrased) In reference to your former manner of life, lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lust of deceit, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind. Ephesians 4:22 &23
