  3. Aims A progressive, Social Enterprise that meets the needs and aspirations of Asian Black and minority ethnic (ABME) communities

  4. Objectives • Lobbying and influencing the policies and decisions of government, national agencies and national and multi-national companies • To establish the Network for Black and Asian Professionals as the credible and authoritative voice for Black and Asian Professionals that values and effectively projects the views of its members To enhance the quality of life of Black and Asian minority ethnic communities through positive action and the promotion of acts of individual and corporate social responsibility e.g. mentoring, coaching and role modelling Continued

To actively encourage ABME professionals to take leading roles in community, local regional and national governance • To provide Professional Development training, advice and guidance to Black and Asian professionals and support them in developing their careers, including: • Leadership and Management development opportunities • Mentoring, work shadowing, coaching and placements • Advice and support for career advancement • Conferences, seminars and workshops • Maintaining a database of members’ skills and expertise Continued

To support organisations in meeting their legal obligations and promote good practice • Research and the dissemination of information • Establish, maintain and develop partnerships with government, key agencies and progressive private sector partners • Establishing and developing international links

  7. Membership • Professional, and corporate membership is open to any progressive organisation that supports the Vision, Values, Aims and Objectives of the NBAP. • There will be three types of membership: • Individual membership • Corporate membership • Student & Graduate membership

Winner of the British Diversity Award Gold Standard for Education Winner of the Queens award for Voluntary Service 19.5% of Chief Executives/Principals/Chairs of Governors in the FE sector trained as BLI mentors Pioneered Shadows with Ofsted, DIUS and the Minister of State for Lifelong Learning, Further and Higher Education Increased the number of black principals across the Learning and Skills systems Developed international links with America and South Africa Increasing the number of ABME middle and senior managers Approximately 70% of participants on the Ofsted/BLI Inspection shadowing programme have achieved career progression Featured in the Foster report as 'an organisation making a difference’ Achievements:
