  2. Celebration and Holidays New Year’s Day is the most popular holiday in Russia. Santa Claus leaves presents for the children to find on New Year’s Day. Russians celebrate Shrovetide for a week in the beginning of spring.

  3. Schools and Education They go to school six days a week, but we go for 5 days a week. They go to school 10 months a year. Their grades are 1-5. 5 is the best grade.

  4. Sports Soccer is a favorite sport in Russia. People play chess in parks throughout the day. Russians often win at world wide sporting events. Russians like skating and hockey, too.

  5. Interesting facts The Red Square is a large plaza in Moscow. The Kremlin has red walls and 20 towers. The Volga River in Russia is the longest river in Europe. Siberian tigers live in Russia.
