  4. Council of Australian Governments • COAG committed $24.2 million over four years from 2005-6. • Strengthen the ACAP through improving the Timeliness Consistency and Quality of ACAT assessments.

  5. Historically There has been minimal nationally consistent training for ACAT members. Development of an ACAT National Training Strategy.

  7. Roles and responsibilities • ACAT National Training Reference Group • National Training Coordinator • State and Territory Training Coordinators • ACAT Education Officers

  8. ACAT National Minimum Training Standards The ACAT Training Reference Group agreed to the establishment of a set of ACAT minimum training standards.

  15. Method • Questionnaires 3 metro teams, 2 rural teams 5 managers and 25 clinicians • Response rate 2 teams provided a collective response 100% Managers 76% Clinicians.

  18. Question 2 Do you refer to the Aged Care Act or your guidelines to assist you in your decision making?

  19. Question 3 Has your individual practice changed as a result of the training?

  20. Question 4 Has your team’s practice changed as a result of the training?

  21. Question 5 Have changes in practice resulting from the training generated conflict or issues amongst your team?

  22. Question 6 Have changes in practice resulting from the training generated any conflict or issues between your team and the auspicing body?

  23. Question 7 Has the training enhanced consistency amongst your team?

  24. Question 8 Has your team identified any contentious issues as a result of the training?
