Clinical Offerings on the Horizon… Sec. 1983 Clinic • Still in the beginning planning stages • May be opened as early as Summer or Fall 2010 • Project coordinated with the United States District Court, Western District, Michigan • Likely to be accomplished as part of the Law College’s Trial Practice Institute, for students who have amassed trial experience • Students will represent prisoners in sec. 1983 actions that have survived the opposition’s motion for summary judgment and are headed for trial

Clinical Offerings on the Horizon… Conservation Law Clinic • May be opened as early as Fall 2010 • This is a two-semester program; credit will be given only for completion of both semesters • During the first semester, students will engage in intensive study about a myriad of aspects of the law and science of conservation • The second semester will entail an externship with a state natural resources agency or nongovernmental organization in the Midwest, in which the agency/organization will be the student’s client, and the student will work on germane matters and issues, including policy issues, legislative drafting, judicial matters, etc. • This program has an interdisciplinary focus, and will work in conjunction with MSU’s Department of Fisheries and Wildlife
