  2. Where to go when inserting movies or sound files… You will always go to InsertMovies and Sounds

  3. Inserting Movies from the Clip Organizer If you want to choose a movie clip from Microsoft PowerPoint’s Clip Organizer then you would go to InsertMoves and SoundsMovie from Clip OrganizerJust like inserting clip art, if you see something you like all you do is left-click once ontop the image. While working in the Normal View, you will not see the animation. When you view your PowerPoint in the Slide Show View, you can see the animation. This is what your Task Panewindow will look like after selecting “Movie from Clip Organizer”

  4. Inserting Movies from File If you want to insert your own personal movie clip, then you would go to: InsertMoves and SoundsMovie from FileThe above window will appear, and so you look for your movie clip file, select it, and then press OK.

Inserting Sounds from the Clip Organizer If you want to choose a sound clip from Microsoft PowerPoint’s Clip Organizer then you would go to InsertMoves and SoundsSound from Clip OrganizerJust like inserting clip art, if you see something you like all you do is left-click once ontop the sound clip. After selecting the desired sound clip, the above window will appear asking if you want to set the sound to start Automatically or When Clicked. This is what your Task Panewindow will look like after selecting “Sound from Clip Organizer”

Inserting Sound from File If you want to insert your own personal sound clip, then you would go to: InsertMoves and SoundsSound from FileThe above window will appear, and so you look for your sound file, select it, and then press OK. Just like when inserting a sound file from the Task Pane, PowerPoint will ask you if the sound clip will start Automatically or When Clicked.

  7. How to tell the difference between PowerPoint’s sound clip and yours When inserting sound clips from PowerPoint’s clip organizer or your own, both icons will look the same . If you want to see which one is what without clicking on the sound icon, you can do so by going to Custom Animation in the Task Pane. Through this view, it will show the name for each sound icon object.

How to tell the difference between a sound clip that is set to play Automatically or When Clicked When inserting sound clips from PowerPoint’s clip organizer or your own, both icons will look the same . If you want to see which one is what without previewing your presentation in the Slide Show mode, you can do so by going to Custom Animation in the Task Pane. Through this view, it will show which sound icon is automatically set and which one is on click. The icon when it is set to Automatic The icon when it is set to On Click
