  1. Divisibility Rules

  2. 2 • Even number (ends in 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8) • Ex: 2,346 1,350,004 28

  3. 3 • Add up all the numbers • If it is divisible by 3 (with NO remainder), then the number is divisible by 3 • Ex: 2,412 2 + 4 + 1 + 2 = 9 9 is divisible by 3, so 2,412 is divisible by 3

  4. 4 • The last 2 digits are divisible by 4 • Ex: 3,912 12 is divisible by 4, so 3,912 is too 988 88 is divisible by 4, so 988 is too

  5. 5 • Ends in 0 or 5 • Ex: 9,035,645 2,350 995

  6. 6 • The number is divisible by 2 and by 3 • Ex: 2,412 → ends in 2 (divisible by 2) → 2+4+1+2=9 (divisible by 3) → divisible by 6

  7. 8 • The last 3 digits are divisible by 8 • Ex: 2,144 144 ÷ 8 = 18 (no remainder) → divisible by 8 1,397,536 536 ÷ 8 = 67 (no remainder) → divisible by 8

  8. 9 • Add up all the numbers • If it is divisible by 9 (with NO remainder), then the number is divisible by 9 • Ex: 4,833 4 + 8 + 3 + 3 = 18 18 is divisible by 9, so 4,833 is divisible by 9

  9. 10 • Ends in 0 • Ex: 3,575,290 2,340
