  1. Top Tips For Avoiding Bad Breath

  2. Top Tips For Avoiding Bad Breath • After reading how to have fresher breath, you may be wondering what you can do to keep your breath as fresh as possible at all times. You should speak with your dentist directly to enlist their help with this problem. There are several things you may do at home to begin the process. Why not try some of Edinburgh Dentist John Booth's excellent tips?

  3. Starting with the obvious.... well, we really have to! • Every day, brush and floss all of your teeth thoroughly. • Mouthwashes – see your dental team to determine which one is best for you. • Regular dental checkups - Halitosis is caused by both untreated decay and gum disease. • Throughout the day, drink lots of water - Dehydration, particularly from the heat in the workplace, stress, or jobs that require a lot of talks, can cause halitosis. • Reduce your intake of coffee and alcohol, turn the radiator down, take regular sips of water in between conversations, and tell your boss that you need to do less work on your dentist's advice (it's worth the try). • Use a tongue scraper once a day — To get rid of the furry parts at the back of your tongue.

  4. Starting with the obvious.... well, we really have to! • A Heath Robinson tongue scraper is shaped like a bent spoon; just make sure your colleagues don't use it to make tea later! (Yuk!) Tongue scrapers that are specifically designed are also available. Remember that this tip is only for adults or children with direct parental super vision. Mouthwashes – see your dental team to determine which one is best for you. • Avoid alcohol-based mouthwashes and breath freshening sprays because, though they may seem refreshing at the time, they will actually dry up your mouth after about an hour. They do not fix the problem, simply temporarily mask it. • If your bad breath persists and does not respond to the recommendations above, consult a dentist, hygienist, or doctor.
