DEUXIÈME ÉTAPE, PREMIÈRE TÂCHE :OBSERVATION ET INTERROGATIONDU CONDUCTEUR FACE À FACE L’observation et l’interrogation du conducteur face à face exigent du policier deux aptitudes : • l’aptitude à reconnaître les indices de consommation d’alcool et/ou d’autres drogues faisant appel à ses sens; • l’aptitude à exposer les éléments de preuve recueillis de façon claire et convaincante.

TECHNIQUES D’INTERROGATION • DEMANDER AU SUSPECT DE MONTRERÀ LA FOIS SON PERMIS DE CONDUIREET LE CERTIFICAT D’IMMATRICULATIONDU VÉHICULE. • POSER AU CONDUCTEUR DES QUESTIONS L’INCITANT À S’INTERROMPRE OU AYANT POUR EFFET DE LE DISTRAIRE PENDANTQU’IL CHERCHE SES DOCUMENTS. • POSER AU CONDUCTEUR DES QUESTIONS INHABITUELLES PENDANT LA VÉRIFICATION DE SON PERMIS DE CONDUIRE.

INDICES ASSOCIÉS À LA SÉQUENCEDE SORTIE DU VÉHICULE Soyez particulièrement attentif aux personnes qui : ont des réactions de colère ou des réactions inhabituelles; n’arrivent pas à suivre les directives; n’arrivent pas à ouvrir la portièrede leur véhicule; laissent le véhicule embrayé; ont de la difficulté à s’extraire de leur véhicule; s’appuient contre le véhicule; gardent leurs mains sur le véhicule pour maintenir leur équilibre; etc.
