  4. General Education Requirements(a.k.a. Gen Eds) Must be completed by GRADUATION Business courses fulfill: • Writing Intensive General Education (WRT382) • Writing Intensive Major Course (MGT 435) • Capstone Experience (MGT435) • Knowledge Applications (QMM 240, QMM 241 or QMM 250) • Formal Reasoning (MTH 121 or MTH 122) • Social Science (ECN 200, ECN 201) You still need the following: • WRT 150/WRT 160 • ARTS • Foreign Language • Global Perspective • Literature • Natural Science • Western Civilization • US Diversity ***Some US Diversity “double count” as Arts, Literature, Western Civilization

  5. I want to major in: ACC/FIN/ECN/GM/MKT/HRM/OM/MIS What do I need to do? You must “earn” and “apply” for major standing in the School of Business Administration. This normally takes 3-4 semesters.

To earn major standing in the SBA you must: Complete the Business Pre-Core • Math & Statistics • Economics & Accounting • Technology & Communication • SBC 199 & SBC 299 • WRT 160 You will be placed in your math course by your ACT score OR an onsite math placement test. Applyfor Major Standing : • Apply during the semester that you will complete pre-core requirements. • Earn the minimum 2.0 in each pre-core course • Earn the minimum 2.6 overall GPA. • Reminder: You do not have to complete your “Gen Eds” for MS; they are required for graduation

Click on the course • reference number (CRN) in SAIL to view them. • **SAIL WILL PREVENT YOU FROM REGISTERING FOR A COURSE IF YOU DO NOT MEET ALL OF THE REQUIREMENTS/PREREQUISITES** • Plan ahead to avoid schedule problems!!

  14. COM 101 “Connections” This is a cohort experience where you will take the following four (4) courses with the same students. COM 101Connections will offer you a chance to make new friends and study buddies. All students will be business majors!
