  3. Profiles • Comes with built-in profiles with minimal configurations.

  4. Profiles • Customize and save as My Profiles: • Input – Region, full screen, etc. • Output – File, email, other. • Effects – Image size, border, caption, resolution, etc. • Options – Mouse cursor on, keep web links alive, multiple screen areas, timed captures, etc.

  5. Profiles • I use this to: • Create profiles with various resolutions and sizes. • Add a specific border to each capture. • Add edge effects to a capture. • Set Hotkeys.

  6. Profiles Examples: • Ctrl+Alt+B = Image reduced 75% with a 1 point border, previews in the editor. • Ctrl+Alt+R = Regular capture with no effects, previews in editor.

  7. Profiles • Click on an existing profile. • Click the large Plus Sign on the Capture tool menu bar to save it as a new profile. • You can assign it a hotkey combination before you save it.

  8. Profiles • Select the new profile, and then use the Profile Settings to select Input, Output, and Effect options to assign to it.

  9. Profiles • You can turn on the OneClick option from the Related Tasks section of the Capture tool.

  10. Profiles • OneClick lets you select a type of capture using the OneClick menu. • Don’t need to remember hotkeys.

  11. Batch Conversion • You have 50 graphics that are too large and need to be resized to 85% of their full size and they need borders added. • Click Convert Images in the Editor.

  15. Batch Conversion • Once it completes converting the files they will appear in a library folder for you to view.

  16. Editor • Lets you manipulate images • Save images • Add hotspots to images (only if you save them to an HTML or compatible format) • Add stamps and call outs to images

  17. Stamps • Facts about stamps • Not resizable • Each time you click you add a new stamp. • Not movable once you release your mouse.

  18. Stamps • Access from the Draw tab. • Click the Stamp tool. • Click the down arrow to the bottom right of the Styles gallery.

Stamps • Add new stamps • Click the down arrow to the right of Styles to view which ones are installed. • http://www.techsmith.com/snagit-accessories-stamps.html • Click Download to load a specific type of stamp to your computer. • Click Run twice to install them. • Click Install, and then click Finish. • Right-click the down arrow in styles to view the new stamps.

  23. Transparencies • Must use a file format that supports them.

Transparencies • Capture a screenshot and view it in the editor. • Save it as a .gif image and check the Use Transparency option. • When the Save dialog box opens, and you select gif as your image type, you will see the transparency tool become available. • Click the picker tool and select the color you want to become transparent. • Click Save to keep the image.

  26. Transparencies • The transparent area shows as a plaid background. • You can save the image and then use the .gif version on an HTML or other page. • It didn’t make all the gray transparent because there are multiple shades in the image.

  27. Image Gallery Web Page • Have you ever wanted to quickly publish a group of images to a web page? • Open your Library and display a group of files. • Select all the files you want to display on the web page. • Right-click and select Create Web Page.

  32. Image Gallery Web Page • Select web properties. • Your graphics must be the same size or they will appear stretched.

  33. Image Gallery Web Page • Quickly lets you display multiple graphics in several output formats with minimal navigation.

  34. Flags • Assign multiple flags to captures and media files • Do not appear in images • Allow you to quickly locate files using the Library. Note: You must manage these within the Snagit Editor or you will lose your flags and keywords if you try moving the files using Windows Explorer.

  35. Flags • Click to assign one to the currently displayed image. • Or click Tags and select the flag from the list.

  36. Flags • View the flags you used.

  37. Flags • Click on a flag to view all images with that flag.

  38. Keywords You can: • Assign keywords to captures using the Tags menu. • Search for captures by keyword • Display the captures associated with a keyword from the tags list.

  39. Keywords • Once you start using keywords to mark captures, you can reuse them without typing. • Click All Keywords to select previously used words or phrases.

  40. Keywords • Once you use a keyword for a capture it appears on the keyword list.
