OMC Improvements • Introduction • OMC subsystem scientist: “main objective to have very frequent and open discussions with the developer to tackle the most pressing needs to hopefully make the OMC a perfect tool for all the Array Operators and Astronomers”. • OMC Master, Array Operator, AoD Roles

OMC Improvements • Actions Taken: • Survey to get from the Array Operators (main users) and Astronomers their concerns which are summarized on this twiki: http://wikis.alma.cl/bin/view/DSO/OmcUsersMainWorries. • Telecom every two weeks with the developer to review the actions taken and their results. • Concerns Review and brake down into OMC UI, Other Subsystems problems, short term improvements (done as a corrective actions) and new requirements. • Short Terms actions: mission to deal with OMC UI problems: hung-up, re-drawing time-out, mouse focus behavior while trying plug-in resizing, multithreading. • Medium/Long Terms new requirements definitions ALMA 10 Req2013AprV02_omc xlsx

OMC Improvements • OMC-011 Software Plugin – Operational State confidence. • The process to have CONTROL subsystem in OPERATIONAL state should include the current additional script actions needed to verify the system ready for observations as well as provide more details or summary of the antennas not operational and the corresponding devices in wrong state. This subsystem goes to operational with all the antennas still in shutdown state.

May be a form to display devices in simulation mode, DUT1 (IERS is up-to-date) OK, define options like first axis in shutdown, shutdown +pstrip, shutdown, ACS-UP, Subsystems to be used and subsystem start, validate weather stations values, mounts in autonomous, shutters open, ACDs in park0, bands power-up, SAS and LLC optimization checks, ML check, ArrayTimeStatus check.
