  3. Prepositions A prepositions shows the relationship between a noun or pronoun and another word in the sentence. Prepositions generally tell you the position of a noun, that is, the direction, time, or manner in which the noun or pronoun acted or was acted upon. Ex: I went into the house. I got directions from the cookbook. Mary went to her mother’s house. She went out without a coat. The prepositional phrase is simply the preposition with the noun it is telling you about. You can see the prepositional phrasesin red from the examples listed above.

Prepositions English prepositions can be divided into 3 cases by structure: • Simple prepositions. /in, on, at, for, over;/ • Compound prepositions./in front of, out of;/ • Complex prepositions. /in order to, in comparison of, as a result of;/ Prepositions are classified into 4 groups by the meaning: • Prepositions of place • Prepositions of time • Prepositions of direction • Other prepositions

  12. Present continuoustense • We use the present continuousto talk about the action is happening at the time of speaking. - Where is Bold? He’s having a bath. - Let’s go out. It isn’t raining any more. • We use it talk about things happening in a period around now. (today, this week, this evening etc) - You are working hard today. - Is Tsetsegee working this week? • We use the present continuouswhen we talk about changes happening around now how: - The population of the world is rising very fast. - Is your English getting better?
