  3. Rational numbers (decimals, fractions, and percents) What am I Learning Today? How will I show that I learned it? To understand and use rational numbers to convert between fractions, decimals, and percents.

  4. What exactly is a percent? • You can remember that percentmeans “per hundred.” For example, 8% means “8 per hundred,” or “8 out of 100.” • Most states charge sales tax on items you purchase. Sales tax is a percent of the item’s price. A percent is a ratio of a number to 100.
