Bachelor of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Services Curriculum • Degree requires a minimum of 180units • 93-103 are required in the major • 14 units in the lower division • 63-64 units in the upper division • 16-25 units of electives • Must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average (GPA) at all times. • Planning for graduate study, you should consider maintain a 3.0 and above GPA.

  3. Lower Division – 14 Units • COUN 200A (3) • COUN 200B (3) • PSY 150 (4)* • SOC 201 (4)* *can be taken in a community college and satisfy Block D of your lower division GE

  5. Pre-Requisites • COUN 200A, 200B, 400A or 400B must be completed before taking COUN 494 and COUN 495 • EDFN 452 must be completed before taking COUN 428 • COUN 428 should be taking before taking COUN 449

Fieldwork/Internship COUN 494 COUN 495 Fieldwork/Internship Must be taken in 3 consecutive quarters. • Seminar class must be taken concurrently with the first two COUN 495. • Required to be taken in 2 consecutive quarters. • Fieldwork application form and manual can be found on the rotating rack in KH-C1034. • Submit internship fieldwork application by the 5th week of the previous quarter • No fieldwork will be offered in the summer.

  7. Electives in Related Fields 16 to 25 Units • Select upper division courses as electives from the following departments: • COUN • EDSP • HS • PSY • SW, and • SOC with advisor’s approval.

  8. Upper Division Theme • Theme A, B, C, D, E, F, G or H • Once selected, you will need to take 1 course from each of the three areas: Natural Science and Math, Social Science, and Humanities. • Two diversity classes are required. • Certain themes allow double counts – theme and diversity.

  10. Writing Proficiency ExamWPE aka UNIV 400 • Pre-requisites: • ENG 101 & 102 • Must be taken before reaching 120 units • If not taken prior to 120 units, a hold will be put on your GET system and you will not be able to register for class. • If transfer from another college • www.assist.org will be able to show what is equivalent to ENG 102 from the transferring school.

Graduation Application • Pick up application from Admin. 146 • Pay your fee at the Cashier • Complete the form and worksheet • Meet with your adviser • Submit the application to KH-C1064 • Must apply two quarters before the expected graduation quarter. If you are graduating in Spring 2013, submit your graduation application between the first week of October and first week of November in Fall 12.
