E C O N O M Y • The most outstanding industries within the region are: • textile industry (production of cotton fabrics and silks); • dressmaking industry; • food and beverage industry; • manufacturing of construction materials (cement); • furniture and light industries; • machinery construction (production of lathes and milling machines); • the biggest nuclear power plant on the Balkans; • foundry and metalworking • The majority of successful companies on the territory of the municipality are private (SMEs)
