  3. This cat looks part bobcat, part Thundercat. This cat has a tail & four legs. I agree, this cat is awesome. This “cat” is really an opossum. I don’t think this is a cat. This creature looks female, actually. You can tell by the long fangs and narrow mouth. Plus, females have more white fur on the face, like in this picture.

  4. The Egyptian revolution was televised. Even though the Egyptian revolution was after Tunisia’s revolution, as the so-called Arab motherland, Egypt is the influence for current uprisings in the region. The Egyptian revolution was a good thing. The US has not intervened in Libya. US foreign policy has failed the Middle East region. The US has backed almost every Arab dictator in the last 30+ years. The US’s actions do not reflect its “Democracy for all” rhetoric. Libya is undergoing a revolution.

Red has an energizing effect on people because it reminds us of fire and heat, which humans evolved to respond to. Red is a primary color. Red makes me feel alive.

  11. 440,000 people die each year from smoking-related illness. Second-hand smoke is the cause of many lung diseases. I hate smoking. It smells so awful. How can anyone inhale that poison. Smoking should be banned in public spaces to protect our health. Cigarette ads harm the public health and should be prohibited.

  12. Parenting classes help people learn how to raise their children. There are many different types of parenting classes. Some have different religious points of view for different types of people. I like parenting classes. They’re helpful. High schools should require all students to take parenting classes because it is the most efficient and accessible resource for all types of students.

  13. Women have many career opportunities today. Women do most of the child-rearing in American families. My mom is my favorite woman in the world. Women face serious challenges trying to climb the corporate ladder, even though they have more opportunities for doing so. Women must work harder than men, postpone childbearing, and adapt to male culture to get to the highest levels of corporate America.

  14. Parents today need more childcare services than at any other time in history. Parents work over 50 hours each week, leaving them little time for their children. Childcare resources in the US are lacking. If the government wants more parents to stay home and raise their children, then it should provide financial incentive to encourage parents.

  15. Drugs are bad for society. Illegal drugs harm the social fabric by creating many problems in families and communities. Even though hard drugs create many problems in society, the answer is not to treat drug offenders as criminals. Even though hard drugs have created generations of problems in society, the root of the problem is a medical one; we should de-criminalize drugs and help people to get medical treatment.

  16. Violent films are to blame for things like Columbine. Violence in films teaches children that violence is the answer to their problems. Violence in films that are marketed to minors can influence them to be more violent. 20 Violence in films is correlated with more violence among adolescents. To protect the greater good of society, the FCC must regulate the media more closely and ban all depictions of violence in TV programming marketed to children. Even though it has been shown that violence in films is correlated with more violence in children, parents must be held responsible for their children’s behavior and nurturing, not the government.
