  4. Skill specific exercise Keeping possession There are 2 teams and there is one netball. The team with the netball has to keep possession for as long as they can. If the opposing team gets the ball, they start to try keep possession. Players without the ball should keep moving into space to give the player with he ball an option.

  5. Skill development Passing A group of two or more will move around and pass to each other. Everyone should be running around looking for space.

  6. Skill progression • Add more netballs so there will be more places to receive the ball • The person receiving the ball cannot do the same pass as the one he received. • Divide all the players into two teams and make them try keep possession of the netball from each other.

  7. 3 netball rules • You are not allowed to move when you have the ball, only pivot. • Certain positions can only be in certain areas. • Only the goal shooter and goal attack can shoot.

  8. Netball positions • Goal shooter- shoots at the goal and passes around • Goal attack • Wing attack • Center- help defend and attack by passing or intercepting • Wing defense • Goal defense • Goal keeper- defends their goal and try intercept any attackers from the opposing team

  9. Netball fitness Stamina Players have to run around most of the time so players need good stamina to play for a long time. Speed Players should be able to move up and down the court fast so that they can receive the ball or move into another position. Muscular endurance The player needs to have muscular endurance to run for a long time.

What I have learnt • Gymnastics (balances, rolls, vaulting, flight, fluency, aesthetic, control, tension) • Netball (passing, movement, strategies) • Warm ups (stretches, suicides) • Exercises (netball 2v1 strategies, gymnastic balances) • I preferred netball over gymnastics because I found netball more exciting and fun than gymnastics. I enjoyed playing netball games against my classmates

Learner Profile Links • The learner profile I used was risk-taker • In the gymnastics section I used some difficult actions in my routine • For example, I used the round off and the cartwheel in my floor routine. • I also used some rolls that I was unfamiliar with such as the teddy bear roll. • I also used balances that I was not very good at such as the V sit and the shoulder balance. • I used jumps that were difficult to me such as the saddle jump and the split jump in my routine. • In netball, I explored strategies with my team to try and win friendly matches. • I also took on different roles in netball suck as the goal keeper and goal shooter.

  12. What I can do to improve • I missed the vaulting lessons in gymnastics • I could improve my shooting skills in netball • I could also have added more difficult balances into my floor routine as well as more rolls. • I can also improve in my movement in netball to make it easier for my teammates to pass to me.
