How Does Culture Change? • Four factors: • Environmental changes – anything in the environment that can cause culture to change such as weather, access to resources, land development, etc. • New ideas – ideas can spark cultural change. These can be political, religious, economical, technological, entertainment, etc. • Technology – any kind of technological advance that changed culture, past or present. • Diffusion – the movement of materials and ideas from one culture to another. Influenced by migration, communication, trade and commerce.

Globalization • Globalization is the process of expanding social and economic relations across world-space. • Global Community -  the people or nations of the world, considered as being closely connected by modern telecommunications and as being economically, socially, and politically interdependent.
