Hub is prepared for challenging conversations with all schools in the second year. 3.Well evidenced changes made, as needed, by schools with whom we undertake challenging conversations to their day to day music curriculum.

  2. Ensure that PMEH staff and partners are well-trained and ready to undertake the work required Hub and partners engaging with quality training opportunities Peer Learning – David Chabeaux and Marc Jaffrey OBE Philharmonia BBC – Ten Pieces RIO -Artsmark Arts Council England Plymouth University Music Mark

  3. Robustly evaluate the impact of the work of PMEH on pupil’s music education • How much difference is the hub making? Core functions • 1. First Access • 2. Ensembles • 3. Singing strategy • 4. Progression Routes Extension roles • Instrument loans • CPD • Opportunities to perform in prestigious locations and be inspired by professional musicians

  4. Develop systems based on our existing database of all schools, Make use of current software to collect data as required Use our partnerships with schools and others to achieve an accurate picture of what is actually happening in our city and its schools. We will use data to inform our planning to continually improve musical opportunities for all our children and young people.

  5. Secondary and Primary Consultants liaise with all schools to forge stronger links with key personnel Dave Perrett (Secondary Consultant) and Jessica Rowe (Primary Consultant) strengthening the team to support the hub and schools to deliver the National Plan for Music Education and the National Curriculum for Music.

  6. Prioritise those schools with which to hold in-depth conversations facilitating school to school support and schedule accordingly We will be looking to engage those schools that are not, for whatever reason, engaged with the hub.

  7. Embed conversations with schools in our planning to review music curriculum and teaching with each school and provide guidance and support where improvement is needed.

  8. Promote PMEH as first port of call for advice and support in bringing about improvement Publicise the potential impact and benefits of engaging with PMEH. Develop tracking systems to record strengths/weaknesses and to record improvement.

  9. Hold an annual South West Peninsula Conference in partnership with our neighbouring hubs in music education Promoting networking, school to school support right across the peninsula. Feeding into the Agenda from Focus Groups, visits, consultations, etc.

  10. Develop partnerships with HEI’s to expand networks and communication Closer working with Plymouth University, Marjons, Deep Blue Sound.

  11. Include Governors, PLA’s Headteacher Associations and other school support structures in the chain of communication • Conversations matter. We will encourage talking and • listening to achieve the very best music education offer for • the children and young people in our city.
