  1. “I Will Build My Church” Part 6 – The 5th Key, Conversion Ephesians 2:1-10

  2. John 3:1-10

  3. Ephesians 2:1-10 D – DEAD A – ALIVE W – WORKS N – NEW BIRTH

  4. Ephesians 2:1-3 (Dead) 1As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.

  5. Heart of Stone Completely Lifeless

  6. John 8: 23-24 “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.” “I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins.”

  7. Ephesians 2:2 …in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.”

  8. Ephesians 2:3 …we gratify the cravings of our sinful nature and we follow its desires and thoughts.

  9. Ephesians 2:4-6 4But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,

  10. Ephesians 2:7-9 7in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast.

  11. 1 Timothy 1:13 Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. - The Apostle Paul

  12. Titus 3:4-6 4But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,

  13. Ephesians 2:8 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast.”

  14. Ephesians 2:6-7 “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.”

  15. Romans 9:23 23What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory—

  16. Ephesians 2:10 (Works) “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

  17. Mark Dever “True conversion may not involve an emotionally heated experience. However, it will evidence itself in its fruit. Do lives give evidence of change-putting off the old and putting on the new? Are members interested in waging war against their sin, even if they continue to stumble?

  18. Do they show a new interest in enjoying fellowship with Christians, and perhaps new motives in spending time with non-Christians? Are they beginning to respond to trials and challenges differently from how they did as non-Christians?”

  19. New Birth Or Conversion
