  1. Monsters Imagery Writing & Narrative Poetry

  2. Instructions • Choose an image from the last slide (or create your own monster) • Create an idea web with imagery phrases to describe one of the monsters • Also add descriptions of the scary/funny/unique things the monster does and the “powers” it has

  3. Narrative Poem • Use this information to create a “story” poem. • This means you need to tell an encounter that someone had with this monster. • Ex. The monster comes to scare a child at night • Ex. The monster tries to take over the world/city/bank • Ex. The monster just wants to find a friend • You will write it in a free verse form; as many stanzas as you need to complete the story

  4. Edit & Improve • Reread your poem and see if you can improve it by adding: • Better/more imagery • Alliterations • Metaphors • Similes • Repetition • Rhyme • Personification • Type your poem. Include a title and the picture of the monster if you like. • Check your spelling 
