  3. World Conservation Awards • Created in conjunction with the World Wildlife Fund “Think Globally" and “Act Locally" to preserve and improve our environment.

  4. Cub Scout • Only earned once (Bear, Wolf, Webelos) • Badges, arrow point, elective or achievement.

  5. Boy Scout/Varsity Scout • Three merit badges • Environmental Science • Soil & Water Conservation or Fish and Wildlife Management • Citizenship in the World

  6. Venturing/Sea Scout • Complete Ecology Elective for the Ranger award

  7. Award • TEMPORARY patch • Right shirt pocket

  8. Leave No Trace

  9. LNT Award • WASLeave No Trace Awareness Award • ISLeave No Trace Achievement Award • Temporary patch – Right Pocket

Hornaday Awards COUNCIL AWARDS • Certificate for a conservation project by a pack, troop, team, or crew. • Hornaday badge to individual Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts, and Venturers. • Hornaday gold badge to adult Scouters for significant leadership to conservation at a council or district level.

  18. Hornaday Awards NATIONAL AWARDS: • Scouts and Venturers may apply for the bronze and silver medals. • Adult Scouters may be nominated for the gold medal. • Organizations unaffiliated with Scouting may be nominated for the gold certificate.

  19. Hornaday Projects • Badge = 1 project • Bronze Medal = 3 projects • Silver Medal = 4 projects

  20. Hornaday Projects • Projects must be “significant” • Equal to or more extensive than…and Eagle or Quartermaster project

  21. Project Catagories • Energy conservation • Soil and water conservation • Fish and wildlife management • Forestry and range management • Air and water pollution control • Resource recovery (recycling) • Hazardous material disposal and management • Invasive species control

  22. Hornaday Projects • One project can count for Eagle or Quartermaster • One project can be on Boy Scout property
