FCE II CENTRAL HYPOTHESIS 3: • Water residence time, groundwater inputs, and tidal energy interact with climatic and disturbance regimes to modify ecological pattern and process in oligotrophic estuaries; this dynamic will be most pronounced in the oligohaline ecotone. • GENERAL QUESTION 1: • How will the interactions of precipitation, surface water, groundwater, tides and evapotranspiration control the conditions [physical and chemical] in the oligohaline ecotone under increasing freshwater inflows from the Everglades?
