  8. The Jaguar • The name “jaguar” comes from the South American Indian word "yaguara." • They live in dense forests and swamps with lots of water

  9. The Black Caiman Crocodile • Live in slow-moving rivers; backwaters of rivers, lakes, ponds, swamps • The largest recorded size is 19 feet for a male Black Caiman, the average is 10-14 feet.

  10. The Squirrel Monkey • Eats fruit, insects, flowers, nectar • Lives in the tropical rainforest and tropical dry forest

  11. The Strawberry Poison Frog • Eats flightless fruit flies and 1/8 inch crickets and termites • Size is 1.25 inches

  12. The Amazon River • The Amazon River travels through the countries of Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, and Colombia • The Amazon River stretches for more than 4,000 miles
