  7. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation • Cardio = heart • Pulmonary = carrying oxygenated blood to living tissue in the body, including the heart. • It is important to get blood pumping to the brain to prevent brain damage when the heart stops • Resuscitation = Artificially moving oxygenated blood

  8. What You Can Do • Identify yourself and qualifications • If the person is conscious ask if he/she wants help • If a young child requires medical help and a parent is not available you can provide emergency aid
