  8. Spectrum Strategy • Intention to align to TR 25-08 • European/global markets • Prioritise bands • start with UHF 2 450-470 MHz • introduce new efficient technology wherever possible • analyse existing use of each band

  9. 450-470MHz Band Re-alignment Project At what stage is the project? • The project is planned to be implemented in 2005 when emergency services have migrated out of the band. • Currently preparing a survey to be sent to all customers at the end of August 2001 to find out how the re-alignment will affect their business.

  10. 450-470MHz Band Re-alignment Project • Working on finding out the underlying economics. • Finalising the proposed band plan • Consultation on the band plan and implementation timescales in early 2002.

  11. Economic Analysis and Demand • Working with the RA economists to better understand the economics of PMR • Undertake a new demand study along the lines of the 1997 Quotient study. • Currently working with the economists to scope both the Economic and Demand studies

  12. Communication with customers • Topical updates in both RA and FCS publications • Meet customers wherever possible • Up to date Information on the Web sites • Seminar and Workshop in November • Bring dealers up to date with news and technology
