ABS Global Donates Historic Beef & Dairy Collection to NAGP ABS Global is the world’s largest cattle AI company They kept samples on every bull they sold In March 2005, decided to donate this collection & the tanks containing it to NAGP This historic collection contains ~213,000 units from ~5,500 bulls This collection contains top beef & dairy bulls from 40 breeds that were used by the industry over the past 50+ years Collection includes bulls born 1939 through the 1990’s Samples have already been requested from the repository & used by researchers to explore the bovine genome Examples of major bulls in historic collection A tank from the ABS donation – circa 1960 – developed by the Linde Division of Union Carbide in conjunction with ABS
