  2. Jesus Commanded Baptism Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19

  3. Candidates for Baptism are Penitent Believers Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38

  4. Baptism Requires Water Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?” Acts 8:36

  5. Baptism Requires Much Water Now John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there. And they came and were baptized. John 3:23

  6. Baptism Requires Going Down into & Coming Up out of Water So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him. 39 Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing. Acts 8:38-39

  7. Baptism is a Burial (Implying Immersion) Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:3-4

  8. Baptism Initiates a New Life in Christ Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4

  9. Baptism Unites One to Christ For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Galatians 3:26-27

  10. Baptism is for the Remission of Sins Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38

  11. Baptism is to be Performed Without Delay And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized. Acts 16:33

  12. Baptism Saves Us There is also an antitype which now saves us--baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ” 1 Peter 3:21

  13. There is Only One Baptism One Lord, one faith, one baptism. Ephesians 4:5

  14. Conclusion Baptism as it is practiced among the denominations, is dissimilar to the Baptism identified and commanded in the Bible. Compare your baptism (there is only ONE baptism) to the factual statements concerning baptism you have learned tonight.
