  7. Diploma of Art & DesignMonash College A pathway into the Faculty of Art & Design Guaranteed entry into bachelor degrees: • Industrial Design • Interior Architecture • Visual Communication • Multimedia & Digital Arts • Visual Arts (proposed 2010)

  8. Diploma of Art & Design Studies • Is a unique and established pathway for students wishing to study art and design at Monash University; • Provides students with another way of obtaining entry into a Bachelor degree in the Faculty of Art & Design;

Diploma of Art & Design Studies • Allows students to develop skills and knowledge in a fully supported teaching and learning environment; • Is aligned academically* with the Faculty and provides a comfortable transition for students into advanced places in selected degrees; • Prepares students for success in the Faculty of Art & Design.^ *Part 2 curricula is supplied and moderated by the Faculty. ^ College students have consistently won awards in the Faculty.

Diploma of Art & Design Studies Course Map Part 1: Trimester 2 At the end of trimester 2 students who have an average of 75% may articulate into the first year of the following degrees: • Bachelor of Design (Visual Communication) • Bachelor of Multimedia and Digital Arts • Bachelor of Industrial Design • Bachelor of Visual Arts • Bachelor of Fine Arts • Bachelor of Interior Architecture • Bachelor of Architectural Design

Diploma of Art & Design Studies Course Map Part 2: Trimester 3 Enter Year 12 or equivalent Trimester 3 • Basic Design Studio C (MCD5010) • Digital Imaging (MCD5030) • Drawing C (MCD5040) • Art & Design Theory C (MCD1320) • Intro to Art & Design Health & Safety (MCD5120) • At the end of trimester 3 local students require an average of 60%*, and international students require an average of 50% pass in all units to articulate into the second semesterof first year of the following degrees: • Bachelor of Industrial Design • Bachelor of Interior Architecture • * Local students require 60% average to be eligible for a commonwealth supported place.
