Richard Nixon • During World War II, Nixon served as a Navy lieutenant commander in the Pacific. • Nixon succeeded in ending American fighting in Vietnam • He improved relations with the U.S.S.R. and China. • President when American astronauts made the first moon landing. • Ended segregation and Cold War • Balanced budget(rare accomplishment) • Created Environmental agencies • Resigned after Watergate Scandal
