What is the CAPM and Who is the target • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® • Based on knowledge of the PMBOK®Guide • Eligibility requirements are: High school diploma And/or • 23 hours of project management training And/or • 1500 hours of project experience • CAPM Exam is available in 13 language aids • Recertification required after 5 years with a retest – no PDUs • Students who are interested in project management • Start Segment practitioners

CAPM Target Market • Start Segment – 0-2 years of project management experience • Practitioners: • Differentiate themselves from other project managers in career management • Develop their professional competence in project management • Demonstrate their dedication to the project management field • Organizations: • Make hiring and other career management decisions • As one facet of developing their project management maturity • Continue to increase awareness of project management as a desired skill in the workforce and a career path

CAPM Changes CAPM enhancement project completed Jan 2011 • 23 Education Hours • candidates can apply and schedule exam prior to completing the education hours • the 23 hours must be completed before they test • Expanded Prometric Test Center Network – went from 600 to 5000+ • Enhancements enabled a re-launch for the CAPM

  6. CAPM Customer Experience • Channel feedback • Need more CAPM preparation courses and material • Policy Change was needed – 23 hours training and application submission • Candidate feedback • Better preparation material • Shorter wait times for tests
