Wireless Personal Alarm (WPA) STEP 1 The bluetooth panic button, once activated, wirelessly triggers a user’s gsm or satellite phone to send an SMS message to one or more pre-defined emergency contacts STEP 2 The device searches for the phone’s location co-ordinates (it looks for GPS or network based location services (LBS)). The user’s co-ordinates are then sent to the emergency numbers

Wireless Personal Alarm STEP 3 It opens a voice channelon the user’s phone allowing the monitoring centre to ascertain and record the user’s situation STEP 4 The device sends out a strobing signal after sending the emergency SMS messages so that the rescue team can locate the user when within the range of the device (up to 100m)
