  2. Editorial • Definition- a newspaper or magazine article that gives the editor’s opinion on some issue • Sentence- The editorial over the conflict in Egypt was simply remarkable.

  3. Hesitation • Definition- be slow in action; not sure if they want to do it • Sentence- Billy hesitated at the edge of the diving board before jumping off.

  4. Incredulous • Definition- incredible; showing unbelief • Sentence- It was incredulous what Mark did for the homeless shelter.

  5. Nonchalantly • Definition- not showing much interest or effort • Sentence- Dave’s only had his driving license for a week; he tries to act very nonchalantly.

  6. Rebellious • Definition- defying or resisting some established authority • Sentence- Amy was rebellious , and she disobeyed the teacher.

  7. Reputation • Definition- a general opinion of someone or something that held is by the public • Sentence- Jamie had a reputation of being a really mean person.

  8. Sarcasm • Definition- mocking; ironic language • Sentence- Sandra wrote a report filled with sarcasm.

  9. Sympathetic • Definition- to have feeling for somebody else • Sentence- Billy felt sympathetic for the girl who lost her family in the tsunami.

  10. Unfathomable • Definition- immeasurable • Sentence- The feeling she had for her dog was unfathomable.
