  2. Two Unscriptural Views • Jesus left His divine attributes in heaven and came to earth as man. • Jesus was a created being; He did not exist as God before the creation of the world.

  3. Attributes of Deity • Everlasting – Micah 5:1-2; Isaiah 9:6; Revelation 1:17-18 • Omnipresent – Matthew 18:20; 28:19-20 He is everywhere. • Omniscient – John 2:24-25; Heb. 4:12-13He knows the hearts of men. • Omnipotent – John 5:19, 26 He could do what the Father could.

  4. Declared to be God by… • His own claims – John 8:58 “I AM” • God the Father – Hebrews 1:8 • Thomas’ declaration – John 20:26-28 • Role in creation – Genesis 1:26; Colossians 1:16-17

  5. Declared to be God by… • His own name – Matthew 1:23 • Acceptance of worship – Luke 4:8; Matthew 8:2-3 • His works – Luke 5:18-26 He could forgive sins! • Fullness of the Godhead dwells – Colossians 2:9

  6. How does this reconcile? • Deuteronomy 29:29 – Some things we will never know. • 1 Timothy 3:16 – Many things are a mystery. • Hebrews 4:15; Luke 24:39 – He was human at the same time. • We cannot understand the way we would like! But we know for sure He is God!
