  1. Bharti Arora vs Kulwinder Sandhu The Haryana government has cleared 1998-batch IPS officer Bharti Arora of the allegations of misuse of power and position levelled by a Gurgaon-based woman in a written complaint. In an April 4 communication to the Union ministry of home affairs, the state government said that after careful consideration, the state government has decided to dispose of the complaint in favour of IPS Bharti Arora, thus clearing her of allegations of misuse of power and position. “The complainant is facing trial in Rewari Session Court for making defamatory, false, motivated imputations against Bharti Arora Police Officer,’’ the state government communication said. In August 2017, the state government had granted sanction under Section 199 (4) of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) for filing the complaint against the IPS Bharti during her tenure as IG State Vigilance Bureau, Gurgaon. Orders to this effect were issued by the office of additional chief secretary, home department. Arora as joint commissioner of police (traffic), Gurgaon was asked to inquire into a rape complaint made by the Gurgaon woman. During investigations, Bharti Arora found that allegations being made by the complainant were false and the accused were being implicated in the case. The complainant then levelled allegations against the officer and sent a complaint to the central government stating that the Bharti Arora Haryana police officer had misused her position and powers. As a part of the standard procedure, the union ministry of home affairs communicated the complaint to the Haryana government seeking facts on the matter. After considering the entire matter the state government decided to clear the officer of accusations.
